Life Coaching
Can Coaching can be of benefit to you? Well, if you’re like most of us and have ever encountered any of the following:
- Do you have trouble managing time?
- What about that book you always wanted to write, but…?
- Can’t lose weight, or get into an exercise routine?
- Are you a professional procrastinator?
- Do you suffer from piles on your desk, or in your closets, or…?
- Your kids seem to ignore your words of wisdom?
The International Coach Federation (ICF to the rest of us) defines Coaching as “partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential.” So what does a coach actually do? A Coach:
- Helps you clarify what you want from life – your purpose and vision
- Works with you to set more effective goals
- Be on “your side” to support and encourage you on your journey of change.
- Keeps you focused, challenges you, keeps you accountable and confronts you when falling behind on your commitments.
- Provides you a sounding board for your ideas, plans and strategies.
- Gives you insights and direction to identify and strengthen your skills
Life Coaching relationships can be short, or can extend for long periods of time. This depends on the nature and purpose of the relationship. The sessions are generally scheduled, usually by telephone, but also by email or in person. The length of the sessions are measured in minutes, rarely longer than an hour.
A non-obligatory trial session is available at no cost.
